Honorary Diplomas

Honorary Diplomas
Posted on 05/17/2017

On Friday, May 12, Greenbrier High School seniors presented their honorary diplomas to those teachers and staff who have had the biggest impact on their education career. Over 100 seniors participated in this annual event. These seniors walked the halls of GHS one last time as the staff and underclassmen cheered them on.  After the honorary diplomas were distributed, the seniors loaded a school bus. Then, they traveled to GES, GMS, and Watauga. The younger students made posters, gave high-fives, and cheered on the seniors as they walked throughout their schools.

Senior, Tori Hardy, stated, "Senior walk is one of my favorite things Renaissance does because, as a graduating senior, it gave me one last chance to say goodbye to the people and places that taught me, supported me, and prepared me to graduate."

Senior, Sayuri Madrical, stated, "I gave my honorary diploma to a teacher because throughout the year everyone recognizes teachers for their hard work; however, honorary diplomas show who they've specifically made an impact on and why."
